  1. ok sooooooo…i still have trouble with proofs unless they are partially filled out…:P anywayssssssss the question we had yesterday was this.

    i was doing a proof and the thing said something like:
    <AOB + <BOA = 90
    so i said it was a congruent angel cause it equaled 90 degrees. but the answer key said that it was substitutive property. but wouldnt it be a congruent angle??

  2. Hi…

    Substitution is a way to have one thing take the place of another.

    In Geometry an example would be:
    <A + <B = <C
    then you find out that <C = 90
    so you can now use "substitution" to say that
    <A + <B = 90

    90 has been "substituted" for <C

    • i found out why my answers were wrong on that test. In lesson 83 im watching the video to a problem and i was using the pythagorean thereom to answer a question and when we got to the end the guy didn’t find the root…it was x squared equals 48 and so i punched it in to find the square root and came up with a decimal…but he gave 16×3 as the answer then simplified it as 4 squared times 3. so that confuses me…cause of what u taught me.

  3. ok so now it’s triangles and finding their angles. i cant figure it out…irritating. and the proofs (as well as the triangle proofs) are killing me…i can’t complete a whole lesson cause of it. so ya.

    • Think of Traingles like half of a rectanlge.

      If a rectangle has 4 right angles – each 90 degrees, that is a total of 360, then a triangle (any triangle) will have a total measure of 180 degrees!

    I do not understand the two questions in session 1.5:

    Question 1–
    If 18 / 2 = 9
    then
    10 x ___ = 9

    Question 2–
    If 50 / ___ = 25
    then
    10 x 1/2 = 25

    I’m kind of confused when you did examples on section 1.7 because on question 11 you did the 10 divided by 300 write out.. I looked at it and tried to figure it out but i don’t get how you did that..

    hey micheala, when you multiply or divide two negatives you get a positive but if only one of the numbers is negative then the answer will be negative! :) does that make sence to you??

    I just finished watching my math video for section 4.3 and it was about Graphing Linear Equations and I looked at the course work and its saying stuff like “How do you change a mixed number into a improper fraction?” and thats not what I learned in the video… I’M SO CONFUSED!!!

    If it is a second power it will have a ^ in front of it.
    Like 3^2 means 3 to the 2nd power.

    I was checking my work for section 5.1 ;) and I think you might have made a mistake on Part 1 question 8 pg. 1. The question is Convert 10111 in Base 2
    Base 5= (your answer)=23 (my answer)= 43
    Base 10= (your answer)- 43 (my answer)- 23.
    I double checked what it says on the chart and looked at your answers again and the chart says I’m right but your answer says I’m wrong.

    Same thing just happened on question 9 Section 5.1 pg.2
    The question was-

    Convert 10010 in Base 2
    Your answer was
    Base 5= 18
    Base 10= 33

    My answer was
    Base 5=33
    Base 10=18
    And I double checked the chart and the chart said I’m right but then I looked at your answer and your answer says its wrong =(
    Help!!! I’m confused!!

    I’m kinda confused with the grade stuff.. Is it the sooner I do all my work for the week the better I get for the on time thing? Or should I do one section a day. If i stretch out my work so I start on like tuesday and end on friday does that mean my grade will lower? Or does it lower if I’m doing my work on saturday or sunday or I dont finish it at all.

Hey Mr. D I need help with two answers in 1.2 the question said to subtact 87-48 and I did and I came out with 39 but the answer you came out with was 35 and my dad who is a math expert checked over it and said it was right and he said he does not know how you got that answer so I watch the video called a freind and I still can not figure it out so i really need help…………

    I am doing my 1.7 course work and I’m doing it with the video. And alot of the questions that your doing on the video are on my worksheets so is it ok that I did it step by step with the video? Like I would pause the video then write down my answers and then play the video and you would put down your answers and if mine were not right I would change them right there. Or do you want me to not watch the videos and do the coursework at the same time and just do my coursework with out doing it with the video since it gives me the answers. Sorry if this is confusing!!

  64. The answer 3.1 for question 4 says the answer is -24cm + 7c. This is wrong, it is -34cm + 7c.

  65. For problem 14 in section 2.5 when I looked in the solutions it said that the answer was negative when in the multiplication there were an even number of negative signs…?

  67. Why does it matter whether the “x” is first in the translation of 8 less than a number is 24?

    because 8 is not more than 24 so if you take anything away from 8 it would not end up as 24.
